Hi! I have been a Speech Language Patholgist for 15 years. I love helping children learn how to communicate more effectively. This is my sixth year working at Lake in the Hills Elementary. Previously, I worked in hospitals, private homes, clinics, and schools in Illinois and Wisconsin. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and my graduate degree from Rush University. My teaching certification is from Northern Illinois University. I have many years of experience working with children with articulation disorders, phonological disorders, expressive/receptive language disorders, apraxia, stuttering, and autism.
I believe in helping each child as an individual and building on strengths. Students have fun learning with me and accomplishing their goals. I also run the Big Dreamer's club at LITH which teaches children in grades 3-5 how to accomplish their dreams.
I grew up in Iowa and spent 2 years living in Germany after graduating from college. Living overseas shaped my understanding of the importance of respecting different cultures. I have traveled extensively in Europe and can't wait to go back! I love to read, write, dance, play guitar, sing, travel, do triathlons, and spend time with my family. I live in Gilberts and have 3 wonderful boys - Max (14), AJ (10), and Aidan (8). My boys are full of energy and love to teach me new things about the world. We enjoy traveling, singing, and playing games together.
